Good morning my fashion followers! As I’m sure you all know, the Golden Globe nominees were announced early yesterday morning and I am excited to announce that two of my favs have made the cut.  Natalie Portman has a best actress nom for her new movie THE BLACK SWAN and the breakout star of the year, Sofia Vergara garnered a best supporting actress for the hysterical MODERN FAMILY. My dream would be to dress these two starlets for the entire award show season but alas that is only a dream.  However, I can suggest to you all what I think their looks should be for the Golden Globe awards show.

First off the lovely, Natalie Portman.  As always she is a fashion do and I would love nothing more than to keep her that way.  As one of the hippest young actresses out there, Natalie can put on practically anything and make it work.  Since the Globes are more of a cocktail party, Portman can definitely pull off a fabulous short cocktail dress.  My first choice is this fabulous black, lace, shear sleeve Valentino.   My second and little more daring choice is the two-tone fitted Lanvin dress.

Next up, the voluptuous Sofia Vergara.  Sofia is alway body conscious and doesn’t mind a sexy gown.  Her go-to designer is usually the queen of evening wear, Carolina Herrera so why fix what is not broken.  The white and black gown would be great for Sofia’s incredible figure.  My second choice (which is actually my first choice) the unbelievable white rouged jersey Elie Saab dress.

The Gap announces a new venture to their empire, a flagship store in Milan, Italy.  This is Gap’s effort to break into the global fashion market.  Italy is the perfect choice to start since Italians apparently spend 3x more on fashion than Americans.  But how does the Gap plan on gaining fashion cred in the high fashion world of Milan?  Team up with one of the most prestigious fashion houses of Italy: VALENTINO!  Now this is nothing new in fashion, heck Lanvin just released a highly anticipated line for H&M which had customers lined up around the block for the debut on Saturday.  However, I think, considering Mr. Valentino Garavani has let go his reins just under two years ago, this particular collaboration could be a risk for the new design team of  Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli.  So what could fashion’s most exclusive high-end label have to offer the price conscious American company?  Well that will be answered by a seven piece collection set to debut in the Milan store soon.  The line will include jeans starting around $82, classic gray Gap T-shirt and sweat-shirt cotton and also heavier khaki-green cotton jackets, graced with vintage Valentino bows and ruffles.  I will be giving it the benefit of the doubt until I see it for myself.  So bring it.
