Dear Miami Fashionistas, time to spend money for a cure.  This week welcomes Jody’s Couture for the Cancer Cure.  A fantastic event I just heard about and it is happening THIS SUNDAY 3/25/2012 at the Miami Beach Convention Center.  Jody’s Couture for the Cancer Cure is a fashion frenzy, sample sale meets fundraiser, meets vintage sale!  What to expect? How about Louis and Gucci and Manolo… OH MY!  Almost everything that is selling will be $10, $20, or $30 with a few exceptions.  The best part…. ALL PROCEEDS go to benefit women’s Cancer Research at the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.  Advance tickets are a $10 donation and can be purchased at www.sylvester.org. Tickets can also be purchased at the door on Sunday.  For more information visit www.jodyscoutureforcancer.com, or call the Sylvester development office at 305-243-9088.  I’ll be there… will YOU?

Hello my fashion followers! Haven’t posted for a while, but today I would love to share with you a look I have created using my new fav site, Polyvore. Today’s look is completely vintage from the premiere vintage shop in all of Florida, C. Madeleines. Please take a look and let me know what you think. Remember every item is available at C. Madeleines.

According to WWD and InStyle online, Runway to Green is putting together the first Eco-Friendly fashion show of the year.  On March 29, 2011 top designers will be donating looks from their Fall 2011 runways.  Here is a portion of the press release from Runway to Green:

“RTG announces major fashion brands as part of the program; confirmed participating designer brands include Gucci, Prada, Balenciaga, Burberry, Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Jacobs, Diane von Furstenberg, Manolo Blahnik, Oscar de la Renta, Stella McCartney, Jason Wu, Alexander Wang, Tory Burch, Derek Lam, Marchesa, Marni, Michael Kors, Rachel Roy, Rag & Bone, Thakoon, Osklen, Pringle of Scotland, Timex 80, Tommy Hilfiger.  NET-A-PORTER is the exclusive online retailer for the launch.”

As you can see, the creme-de-la-creme of designers have signed on.  Another giant step for the Green community.  Onward and upward my eco-friendly friends…baby steps are steps, and we are definitely stepping in the right direction!

Just a fun article from NY Times also showing military inspiration in fashion.  It’s nice to know that I’m on trend with the big boys! Check out article HERE .  Jacket only $1,900 at select Gucci stores.  This grey felted wool coat would be a spectacular addition to anyone’s wardrobe.  Alas, if you (like myself) can not afford such luxury, try something a little more mainstream, like Old Navy.  Their military inspired look is a wool blend in grey, red or black, and at $59.99 why not get one in every color for the season! (Or like I would do, wait a couple weeks for markdowns and then really splurge!).  The idea is very much the same, except without the severe hard edge.  Hope this helps you out, my fashionable followers, in your quest for a great fall/winter jacket.  Till next time… ta ta!
