This week I was lucky enough to receive an invite to a fun event hosted by the Cole Haan store.  It was a conversation w/ Maria Sharapova and Vogue Magazine.  Maria Came to the Cole Haan store in Merrick Park to promote her new line of shoes and handbags with the famed retailer.  The line includes some great basics, ballerina flats, fabulous heels, and some sharp handbags.  The collection has a great neutral color palette which fits in perfectly with Spring’s 2011 trend.  Maria answered a few question, took pictures with fans, answered some more questions, signed some autographs, and gave away some fantastic prizes, including a pair of tickets to see her at the Sony Ericsson Open 2011.   Sharapova sites Audrey Hepburn and Gwen Stefani as her personal style icons.  She also mentioned that she spends most of her free time in flats and her personal style is pretty much non-existant.  Don’t worry Maria, you just keep hitting those tennis balls like you do and leave the fashion to your stylists!  By the way, Sharapova actually practices what she preaches, she came in wearing a pair of beige wedges from her new collection.  So, RUN don’t walk to your nearest Cole Haan store and pick up a pair of Maria’s new shoes, trust me you will LOVE them and they will last you forever!
