For reasons know to a select few, I am spotlighting a select designer and line this week: Alice + Olivia by Stacey Bendet.  Some of my hardcore fashionistas should know the label but maybe not the woman behind it.  Bendet is a graduate of University of Pennsylvania and started out in the fashion world as a website designer for established fashion houses.  She found her inspiration in one simple question: where are the perfect fitting pants?  Since she couldn’t find them in stores she decided to invent them with a little inspiration from Mick Jagger.  Hence the invention of the “Stacey Pant”.   She decided to do a line of pants after Lisa Kline asked her for an order for her trendy L.A. boutique.  After that the famous Bergdorf’s came calling.. Little by little she built her line including basics, sportswear, and fabulous dresses.  Bendet has even stepped out of her comfort zone and, most recently, created a chic wedding dress for starlet Mena Suvari.    The latest collection RTW 2011 Spring was, in my opinion, an homage to the great Pat Fields and her stunning work on the incomparable work on Sex and the City.  Take a look for yourself HERE.  Please check out the Alice + Olivia website, you will not be disappointed.  I hope you enjoy this post my fashion followers, it will most likely be my last for the week since it is the turkey holiday!  More designer spotlights to come.
